Why do millennials blog about everything?

July 14, 2018

I don’t know why other millennials blog, but writing a blog provides a vehicle to organize thoughts. When struggling with a new concept, toying with an idea, or exploring something different, writing a blog post forces me to research the subject, think deeply about it, and organize my thoughts and opinions in a coherent way. Prior to writing a blog I often don’t really understand the subject or have an only partially formulated opinion. After the post, I have a fully thought out, well researched, educated stance on the subject.

I post them online so I can reference them myself later, send to coworkers when they happen to ask about a subject I’ve researched, and prove to future employers that I kind of know what I’m doing.

Forbes thinks we do it for the likes, socialmediaweek thinks it replaces a diary, while the search results show its all about the money.
